Assess Your Stress (and more) has questionnaires you can use to assess your stress, worry, anxiety, panic, depression, and resilience. They also provide feedback based on your answers.
How to Solve Problems Step-by-Step
A Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs initiative, “Moving Forward,” has a website with tools for “overcoming life’s challenges.” The next time you encounter a challenge, give their module a test run—it takes you through a step-by-step process for solving problems.
Tactical Breather [APP]
This app from the National Center for Telehealth and Technology can be used to manage your psychological and physical stress responses, including heart rate, emotions, and concentration.
BioZen [APP]
The National Center for Telehealth and Technology created this app you can use to do biofeedback that helps control your body’s responses. BioZen is currently available only for Android. This application does require the use of a biosensor to transmit feedback, but it is compatible with a range of models.
Breathe2Relax [APP]
Breathe2Relax is a free mobile application from the National Center for Telehealth and Technology that helps you practice deep (diaphragmatic) breathing to foster stress management and relaxation. With the aid of the latest graphics and narration, you can use your Android or Apple mobile device to learn to regulate your breathing effectively to control your stress response.
PTSD Coach [APP]
The National Center for Telehealth and Technology along with the VA’s National Center for PTSD developed this mobile application (for Android and Apple devices) to help those experiencing PTSD and those who just want to learn more about it. It allows you to access information to help manage symptoms by developing healthy coping skills, take self-assessments with individualized feedback, find emotional and emergency support, and learn about PTSD. This application is not intended to replace primary care, but it can be used in conjunction with care from a healthcare provider.
T2 Mood Tracker [APP]
Track your mood over a period of time using your mobile device (Android and Apple; from the National Center for Telehealth & Technology). Knowing what you are feeling and experiencing is a good practice for building mental strength. T2 Mood Tracker helps you self-monitor your emotions and experiences over days to months – knowing what you are feeling helps you better able to mitigate negative feelings and foster positive. And it can generate a report you can send to your healthcare provider.
