DIRECTIONS

  1. Prepare all fruits and vegetables in accordance with guideline card A-G-31. Peel banana, slice into ¼” pieces, and freeze for at least one hour. 
  2. Combine banana, yogurt, blueberries, milk, mango, and vanilla extract in blender. Blend on high for 2 to 3 minutes or until smooth. Scrape down the sides of the blender as needed to incorporate ingredients.
  3. Serve immediately.

RECIPE NOTES

  1. This recipe was developed on Waring Commercial MX series blender with a 64 oz capacity. If using other models or sizes of blender, blend times may vary. When using larger blenders for small batches of smoothies, intermittent pulsing and scraping may be required to ensure that the blade is making contact with all ingredients.
  2. In Step 2, the bananas should be weighed to ensure that the smoothie flavor is consistent based on variability in the size of bananas. The bananas can be cut, portioned, and frozen in advance to make this process easier.
  3. To prep in advance; cut, portion, and freeze fruit for individual servings.
  4. This recipe creates a 16 oz portion that is intended for meal replacement. Smaller sizes from 8 - 12 oz should be offered when possible to accompany a meal.
